I took a trip to the desert on Good Friday. Usually, I’d head to Borrego Springs but this time I decided to head south once over the mountains past Julian. I picked up the old Stagecoach Road and headed south towards Ocotillo and Interstate 8 to circle around at the end of the day and head home.
I took my Mamiya RB67 with the 127mm lens. My two film backs were each loaded with Portra 400 and Kodak Tri-X.
The heat here in the summer is way too high to make photography comfortable with temperatures normally around 110F or higher. This time of year in the early spring is about perfect. The roads are long and straight for the most part with only a very few cars on them. This was the first time on this drive for me and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Hope you enjoy these few frames, all developed and scanned by The Darkroom in San Clemente.
As always, thanks so much for taking the time to read my posts.
