Here’s the link to the album on Flickr where you can find all my images from Whittier Lacrosse taken from 2006 – 2010. https://www.flickr.com/gp/126464289@N07/46tum7 Please feel free to share this post especially to team players during these years.
A few years ago my photography was a bit different in scope and style than it is today. I shot a lot of high school and college lacrosse (NCAA Division III), all with my Nikon digital gear. Both of my boys were lacrosse players and pretty good if I can say so myself.
I have thousands of images from those years. My challenge has been how to share them. I came up with the best solution, at least in my mind. I uploaded all of them to Flickr and put them in private albums that can only be viewed with the actual link to their location. While I don’t have a problem with making them public, if I did they’d plaster my Flickr timeline overwhelming all of my current work. The benefit of private albums is that they stay off your public timeline but are still accessible.
I uploaded the images I have of the Whittier College teams while both boys were there, a total of just over 5,500 images. The Poway High School photos are coming soon.
Shooting any sport requires some understanding of the game and its tempo. It helps to anticipate the quick action to get the best images capturing key moments.
If you’re a Whittier Lacrosse alumni you can find all my legacy images at this link.
I’m sharing some of my favorites here. I know that over 5,500 images are a lot to take in. I can’t delete any of them, I’m too emotionally attached and they do represent a piece of history.
As always, thanks for reading.
