This past weekend I traveled to Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery hoping to capture an image on my new large format kit. Memorial Day is coming up so I thought it would be nice to go out to this beautiful and inspiring place to photograph.
I blame Ray Larose for this foray into big cameras. He baited me into large format photography. 😉 I haven’t quite yet met the challenge of fully understanding large format camera movements completely. I think I’ve got it conceptually but it’s a bit more difficult in practice. I did try to get everything sharp from front to back and in all honesty wasn’t successful. However, I do like this image but quite possibly could have done as well with my Rolleiflex in medium format.
This is my third image on my Tachihara 4×5. This one was with a Rodenstock 180mm lens f/5.6 on Ilford Delta 100 film. It was developed in HC-110 at 1+31 dilution for 6:30mins.
